Emergency Assistance Qualifications

Assistance is issued to a qualifying applicant by voucher, once in a twelve month period. Applicants must be living in Peoria Township. Each applicant must fill out an application at the Township Relief Office. Applicants must provide the required verifications before they are determined to be eligible. Failure to provide such verification could leave applicant ineligible or delay determination. Household NET MONTHLY EARNINGS CANNOT EXCEED $2,500. Generally, an applicant cannot be receiving any general assistance or public aid.

Township Assistance Emergency Programs

The Township provides funds for help with the following expenses:

CILCO----APPOINTMENTS ONLY, Call, Tuesday & Thursday first week of the month. Hours: 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. Effective 8/1/07, until further notice.

Burial
Eye glasses and exams
Dental expenses - fillings or extractions
Prescription drugs & authorized refills

First come, first service basis during hours:
1st week of the month: Monday, Wednesday & Friday - 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
2nd, 3rd & 4th weeks: Monday thru Thursday 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. and all Fridays 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.

These programs go on all year around.

General Assistance

The Township Relief Office continues to provide general assistance which includes a cash grant and medical card for those determined non-employable. Applications can be picked up during office hours.
