Information for Tenants

The City of Peoria believes that landlords play an integral part in helping to keep neighborhoods safe and sanitary. This website discusses what is expected of landlords and tenants and provides valuable information on property maintenance, common violations, and much more. We encourage you to embrace this information and become a contributing member in your neighborhood and community.

Our goal is to provide information that allows landlords to run a successful business and tenants to have a safe and sanitary place in which to live. We believe these two things go hand-in-hand and look forward to working together and making Peoria a stronger community.

Your landlord should have you sign the self-inspection checklis when you move into the property and at least once a year.  Do not sign off on items that are not in compliance.  If the landlord refuses to bring a violation into compliance, please contact our office at 309-494-8654.   Please click here to download the form.
