Historic Sheridan Triangle Business District

In 2006, City Council identified the Historic Sheridan Triangle Business District as a targeted development area.  In addition to the creation of the Sheridan Triangle Form District, Council allocated $100,000 for a Façade Improvement Program.  This program is designed to help businesses in this area improve the visual appeal of their buildings.  Under this program, applicants will be reimbursed half of the total cost of their external improvements, up to a maximum award of $20,000.  Any commercially zoned or mixed-use building that faces Sheridan Road in the 2500 and 2600 blocks can receive a grant (see Program Boundaries here).

Below is a list of improvement projects that might qualify:

Doors Walls
Painting Windows
Fences Roofs (If visible from street)
Facia, Gutters, and Downspouts Walkways
Shutters Lighting
Awnings and Canopies Landscaping
Signs Siding
Stairs, Porches, and Railings Parking Lots

Restrictions apply to the use of these funds, but our staff is willing to help guide you through the process.  Please call us at (309) 494-8640 for more information.
