Peoria Business Initiative

In July 2004, the City of Peoria’s Department of Economic Development officially launched the Peoria Business Initiative (PBI), a systematic business expansion and retention program.  The program was designed to serve the business community in the following ways:

  • Express appreciation for the companies contribution to the local economy.
  • Learn more about the companies’ strengths, successes, challenges and opportunities.
  • Gauge the companies’ opinion about the local economy and recommendations for improvement.
  • Respond to and address any issues the City or our partners are able to resolve.

Through the PBI program, the City continues its proactive approach to improve the business climate in Peoria.  Each visit provides an opportunity to promote City programs, assess the efficiency and satisfaction of City services and engage the interest of existing businesses in the Peoria community.  We are confident that the on-going presence of City staff, that is attentive to businesses’ needs, will encourage collaborative growth and expansion of companies in Peoria.
