A permit is required to resurface or construct a parking lot prior to the start of work.

Requirements

Any new construction or expansion of a parking lot must first be reviewed by the Site Plan Review Board (SPRB). To begin this process, contact Planning and Growth Management at (309)494-8600.


To obtain a permit to resurface an existing parking lot, submit the required information to the Public Works Permits Department (see address below).


Applicants must submit the following information:

• Site address and/or location
• Amount of area to be resurfaced in square feet
• Name of licensed and bonded contractor performing the work
• Site Plan including dimensions and drainage plan (i.e. locations of existing and proposed inlets, direction of storm water flow, etc.)

Permit Fee

The fee for a parking lot permits is based on the area of parking lot to be resurfaced:

• 0-7,000 square feet.....................$20.00
• 7,001-30,000 square feet............$25.00
• 30,001 square feet and above...$30.00

Contractor Requirements
