SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING to Hold a POLICY SESSION to Review a Draft Plan for Improving Washington Street (US 24) Between I-74 and Edmund Street, per the Agenda - To be Held at City Hall, Council Chamber, Room 400, 419 Fulton Street, Peoria, Illinois.

All matters listed under CONSENT AGENDA are considered to be routine and non-controversial by the City Council /Town Board and will be enacted by one motion and one roll call vote.  There will not be separate discussion on these items.  If discussion is desired by a Citizen or Members of the City Council, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and discussed immediately after approval of the Consent Agenda.  Citizens desiring discussion on any item listed under the CONSENT AGENDA should contact a City Council/Town Board  Member or the City Clerk prior to the meeting and request that the item be removed for discussion.

 

*CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS AN ITEM NOT ON THE CONSENT AGENDA SHOULD CONTACT A CITY COUNCIL/TOWN BOARD MEMBER PRIOR TO THE MEETING.  ALL OTHER PUBLIC INPUT WILL BE HEARD UNDER CITIZENS’ OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS THE CITY COUNCIL/TOWN BOARD  NEAR THE END OF THE  MEETING.

EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2007, THE PEORIA CITY COUNCIL/TOWN BOARD WILL MEET IN REGULAR BUSINESS SESSIONS THE SECOND AND FOURTH TUESDAYS OF THE MONTH AT 6:15 P.M. AT CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS (Room 400), 419 FULTON STREET, PEORIA, ILLINOIS. TOWN BOARD MEETINGS ARE HELD JOINTLY WHEN CALLED. NOTICES OF ANY SPECIAL MEETING ARE POSTED AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR.

Note:  COUNCIL RULE 31.   POLICY SESSIONS of the City Council shall be conducted in the manner to encourage the discussions of issues by and between Members of the City Council and the Administration.  Ordinances, Resolutions and Motions of the Council shall not be voted upon at Policy Sessions, except for a Motion to allow a member of the public to address the Council and except for a Motion to give direction to Staff.  Members of the public shall be permitted to address the Council at a Policy Session upon Motion made and seconded by a Council Member and approved by a two-thirds vote of the Council Members present.
