All matters listed under CONSENT AGENDA are considered to be routine and non-controversial by the City Council and will be enacted by one motion and one roll call vote.  There will not be separate discussion on these items.  If discussion is desired by a Citizen or Members of the Council, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and discussed immediately after approval of the Consent Agenda.  Citizens desiring discussion on any item listed under the CONSENT AGENDA should contact a Council Member or the City Clerk prior to the meeting and request that the item be removed for discussion.

AVENUE, in the Amount of $55,000.00, as an OPPORTUNITY ACQUISITION for the FUTURE WIDENING of DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DRIVE.

 

B.                 Communication from the City Manager and Corporation Counsel Requesting Authorization to RETAIN the FIRM of HINSHAW & CULBERTSON LLP to Represent the City in ARBITRATION MATTERS Concerning the PEORIA AREA ADVANCEMENT GROUP.

ITEM NO. 4     Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Authorization for the City Manager to Execute an AGREEMENT with S&S LICENSE & TITLE SERVICE, INC. for the CONSTRUCTION OF EIGHT (8) PUBLIC PARKING SPACES at the CORNER of W. LINCOLN AVENUE and WESTERN AVENUE to be Licensed for a Period of Twenty (20) Years.

 

ITEM NO. 5     Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Approval of a CONSULTING SERVICES CONTRACT with STS CONSULTANTS, LTD, in an Amount Not to Exceed $68,417.00, to Provide a FEASIBILITY STUDY for the IMPROVEMENT of DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DRIVE, from R. B. Garrett Avenue to Western Avenue, and Requesting Authorization of Approximately $3,500.00 for City Staff Time in Contract Administration Costs.

 

ITEM NO. 6     Communication from City Manager and Fire Chief Requesting Adoption of an ORDINANCE Amending CHAPTER 11 of the Code of the City of Peoria Pertaining to FIRE PREVENTION and HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INSPECTIONS, ENFORCEMENT, and PERMIT FEE ASSESSMENT, Effective January 1, 2007, and Requesting Adoption of the PEORIA FIRE DEPARTMENT MANUAL on HAZARDOUS MATERIALS STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS.

 

ITEM NO. 7     Communication from the City Manager and Director of Economic Development Requesting Authorization to PRESENT the SOUTHERN GATEWAY PLAN Including the RIVERSIDE ARTS (Warehouse) DISTRICT, the RIVERS EDGE REDEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE, and the EAGLE VIEW BIOTECH PARK to the TIF JOINT REVIEW BOARD, OTHER TAXING BODIES, the HEART OF PEORIA COMMISSION, and the PLANNING COMMISSION for Their Review and Input.

B.         Approval to Enter into a SOLE SOURCE HEALTH CARE CONSULTANT SERVICES CONTRACT with GALLAGHER BENEFIT SERVICES, INC. for CONSULTING to the CITY COUNCIL an the JOINT LABOR/MANAGEMENT HEALTH CARE COMMITTEE on a MONTH-TO-MONTH BASIS Commencing on MAY 1, 2006, But Not Beyond APRIL 30, 2007, Not to Exceed $14,042.00 per Month for Each of the First Two Months and Not to Exceed $5,966.60 Per Month in Subsequent Months. (06-305)          Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting the Award of a CONTRACT to HEIN CONSTRUCTION, in the Amount of $858,500.00, for RENOVATION of FIRE STATION 13, with SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Regarding FIRE STATION 13 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT.

 

(06-302)          Communication from the City Manager and Finance Director/Comptroller Requesting Adoption of an ORDINANCE Amending the BUDGET for FISCAL YEAR 2006 of the City of Peoria Relating to the FIRE STATION 13 REHABILITATION and STERLING AND RICHWOODS PROPERTY SALE.  (New Communication and Ordinance)

 

(06-300)          Communication from the City Manager and Corporation Counsel Requesting Approval to Authorize the City Manager to Enter into a CONTRACT for the SALE of a 0.84 ACRE TRACT Near the Corner of Richwoods and Sterling to DAVID S. JOSEPH, for a Price of $128,500.00, and to Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Necessary Documents.
