All matters listed under CONSENT AGENDA are considered to be routine and non-controversial by the City Council and will be enacted by one motion and one roll call vote.  There will not be separate discussion on these items.  If discussion is desired by a Citizen or Members of the Council, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and discussed immediately after approval of the Consent Agenda.  Citizens desiring discussion on any item listed under the CONSENT AGENDA should contact a Council Member or the City Clerk prior to the meeting and request that the item be removed for discussion.

ITEM NO. 1     PRESENTATION by ADY INTERNATIONAL COMPANY Regarding the RECOMMENDATIONS for the CITY OF PEORIA and PEORIA COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, with a Request to Receive and File.

ITEM NO. 2     CONSIDERATION OF CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS BY OMNIBUS  VOTE, for the City of Peoria, with Recommendations as Outlined:

A.                  Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Approval of a CONTRACT with STANDARD HEATING AND COOLING for REPLACEMENT of the INCINERATOR at PAWS, in the BID Amount of $46,600.00.

 

B.                 Communication from the City Manager and Fire Chief Requesting Approval to CONTRACT with J.T. WEER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, in the Amount of $27,600.00 to Construct a STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE SIMULATOR at the PEORIA FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING ACADEMY.

 

C.                 Communication from the City Manager and Human Resources Director Requesting Approval of a CONTRACT with RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATES (RMA), in the Amount of $42,186.00 for the FIRE CAPTAIN PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATION, and $42,112.00 for the FIRE BATTALION CHIEF PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATION.

 

D.                 Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Approval to PURCHASE REAL ESTATE Located at 1806 W. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DRIVE, in the Amount of $20,000.00, as an Opportunity Acquisition for the Future Widening of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.

 

E.                 Communication from the City Manager and Corporation Counsel Requesting Adoption of an ORDINANCE Amending CHAPTER 30 of the Code of the City of Peoria Relating to LICENSING of DRIVERS of HORSE-DRAWN VEHICLE, Lowering the Age of Drivers to 16.

 

F.                  Communication from the City Manager and Finance Director/Comptroller Requesting Adoption of an ORDINANCE Amending the BUDGET for FISCAL YEAR 2006 of the City of Peoria Relating to the WORLD WAR I and WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL MONUMENT, in the Amount of $112,000.00.  (Refer to Item No. 06-205)

 

G.                 Communication from the City Manager and Corporation Counsel Requesting Approval of an APPLICATION for a CLASS "H" (Temporary Outdoor) Liquor License at RIVERFRONT FESTIVAL PARK for the GERMAN AMERICAN CENTRAL SOCIETY MAIFEST FUNDRAISER on SATURDAY, MAY 13, 2006.

 

ITEM NO. 3     Communication from the City Manager and Economic Development Director Requesting Approval of the FACADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM for the PROSPECT ROAD BUSINESS DISTRICT, as Described.

 

ITEM NO. 4     Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Approval of the PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT with THE FARNSWORTH GROUP, in an Amount Not to Exceed $48,000.00, to Assist the City in Meeting the Requirements of the NEW NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM PERMIT for the COMBINED SEWER OUTFALLS.
