All matters listed under CONSENT AGENDA are considered to be routine and non-controversial by the City Council and will be enacted by one motion and one roll call vote.  There will not be separate discussion on these items.  If discussion is desired by a Citizen or Members of the Council, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and discussed immediately after approval of the Consent Agenda.  Citizens desiring discussion on any item listed under the CONSENT AGENDA should contact a Council Member or the City Clerk prior to the meeting and request that the item be removed for discussion.

ITEM NO. 1     CONSIDERATION OF CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS BY OMNIBUS VOTE, for the City of Peoria, with Recommendations as Outlined:

A.                  Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Approval of a ONE-YEAR EXTENSION of the ELEVATOR SERVICES CONTRACT with KONE ELEVATOR COMPANY, in an Estimated Amount of $25,014.00 for 2005/2006.

 

B.                 Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Recommending Approval of the LOW BID of C&G CONCRETE, in the Amount of $120,135.00, for SINR CONTRACT #27 for SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT in the GREENLAWN, GARDEN, MATTHEWS, and JEFFERSON STREET DISTRICT.

 

C.                 Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Recommending Approval of the PAYMENT ESTIMATE for PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - SAFER SIDEWALK - NORTH of TREWYN MIDDLE SCHOOL (Constructing and replacing 5' wide 4" thick p.c.c. sidewalk and 5' wide 6" thick p.c.c. sidewalk); PAY ESTIMATE #3 & FINAL:  $1,933.75; TOTAL AMOUNT:  $19,337.49; CONTRACT AMOUNT:  $16,123.00; OVER CONTRACT AMOUNT:  $3,214.49 or 19.94%.

 

D.                 Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Recommending Approval of the PAYMENT ESTIMATE for PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - SAFER SIDEWALK - SOUTH of TREWYN MIDDLE SCHOOL (Constructing and replacing 5' wide 4" thick p.c.c. sidewalk and 5' wide 6" thick p.c.c. sidewalk); PAY ESTIMATE #4 & FINAL:  $2,235.98; TOTAL AMOUNT:  $22,359.84; CONTRACT AMOUNT:  $17,920.50; OVER CONTRACT AMOUNT:  $4,439.34 or 24.77%.

 

E.                 Communication from the City Manager and Director of Planning and Growth Management with Recommendation from the Weed and Seed Steering Committee to Enter into an AGREEMENT with the PEORIA COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT of SCHOOLS, in the Amount of $20,160.00, to IMPLEMENT the TRUANCY ASSESSMENT CENTER.

(05-481)          Communication from the City Manager, Chief of Police, and Finance Director/Comptroller Requesting Adoption of an ORDINANCE Amending CHAPTER 30 of the Code of the City of Peoria Relating to TOWING of PRIVATE VEHICLES and Rotation of Tow List, Impose a Fee of $25.00 Upon Each Tow Operator for Each Rotation Tow, with a REQUEST TO DEFER UNTIL SEPTEMBER 27, 2005.

 

(05-485)          Communication from the City Manager and Director of Planning and Growth Management Requesting to Concur with the Recommendation from the Administration to REJECT the PROPOSAL from the YWCA of PEORIA to DEMOLISH the BUILDING Located at 801 N. E. PERRY STREET at this Time, and to Authorize the City Manager to Enter into an AMENDMENT to the CURRENT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT with the ILLINOIS STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICER and the YWCA OF PEORIA Under the Terms and Conditions as Outlined. (05-498)          Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Approval of a PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT with DESMAN ASSOCIATES for a CONDITION SURVEY of all PARKING DECKS, in an Amount of $53,060.00, Including Estimated Reimbursables.

 

(05-500)          Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works Requesting Approval of REAL ESTATE PURCHASE Located at 1402 W. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., DRIVE, as an Opportunity Acquisition for the Future Widening of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive, in the Total Purchase Price of $40,891.50, Per the Agreement with the Property Owners. (New Communication)

 

(05-501)          Communication from the City Manager and Director of Planning and Growth Management Requesting to Concur with the Recommendation from the Human Resources Commission to Approve a BUDGET AMENDMENT to the YWCA of PEORIA’S Y-HOUSE EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT (ESG) 2005 AGREEMENT with the City of Peoria, and with Recommendation to Receive and File the REPORT BACK.

 

(05-524)          Communication from the City Manager and Corporation Counsel Requesting Authorization for the City Manager to Notify ILLINOIS-AMERICAN WATER COMPANY that the City, After DUE DILIGENCE, DECLINES to EXERCISE the PURCHASE OPTION.
