The City of Peoria has placed a moratorium on payday loan businesses to review the impacts of such businesses.

In response to an increase in Convenience Cash businesses in the City of Peoria and to gauge their impact on property values and neighborhood character, the City is studying the possibility of enacting an ordinance to regulate such businesses. We would like to hear your comments and suggestions regarding land use regulations of Convenience Cash businesses in Peoria. We invite you to provide your feedback on the questionnaire provided by Friday, August 22, 2008. Your responses will guide the City of Peoria in possible regulation of Convenience Cash businesses through the zoning ordinance. Any ordinance change would be expected to go to the Zoning Commission in October or November.
