Subject: 2009 YARDWASTE COLLECTION

The 2009 yardwaste collection season begins on Monday, March 16, 2009, and ends Friday, December 18, 2009, for City of Peoria residents served by Waste Management.

Yardwaste set out for collection must be in:
• Garbage cans marked “Yardwaste only” which do not exceed 32 gallons in size nor 50 lbs. in weight.
• Paper yardwaste bags which do not exceed 50 lbs. in weight
• Bundles which do not exceed 5’ in length or 50 lbs. in weight

Cans, bags, and bundles which exceed the size and weight limits will not be collected. Each collection route serves approximately 1,200 homes each day; adhering to the size and weight limits is essential in avoiding injuries to collection employees.

The only container larger than 32-gallon size, collected by Waste Management, is the 96-gallon wheeled toter rented from Waste Management. These toters are manufactured to be compatible with the lift mechanism on Waste Management collection vehicles. The monthly rental fee is $2.50.
