Each year the City receives funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) – Community Development Block Grant program (CDBG), HOME investments Partnership Program, and Emergency Shelter Grant Program. In total, these grant funds allow the City to invest over $3 million annually into Peoria’s neighborhoods.
In addition to federal funds, the City of Peoria Neighborhood Development Division invests corporate (City) funds in a variety of projects, including rehabilitation and construction of affordable housing, revitalization of neighborhoods, homeless and public services, funding for capital improvements, and administration of the entitlement programs.
Peoria has over 80 registered neighborhood associations. The Neighborhood Development Division maintains a neighborhood association directory available to the public.
