Who is responsible for the violation?

The property owner is responsible for maintaining property in compliance with the Codes, with few exceptions.

Citations can be issued to the landlord or the tenants.

Work order bills are only charged to the property owner.

If practicable, Code Enforcement Inspectors will call you when they post an ABATE notice at your property if it is occupied with a tenant to let you know there is a violation. Make sure your updated contact information is attached to your registration.
