Directions from Peoria: Take 74 West. Take the Kickapoo-Edwards exit (#82) to the right.
Turn left at the STOP sign. Go 2.2 miles (over railroad tracks); turn right at STOP sign onto Route 8. Go 1 mile; turn left onto Cottonwood Road (at yellow flashing light with signs).
Go approximately 1 mile on winding road. After hairpin curve, turn right at the Landfill entrance gate.
A Citizen’s drop-off area is located to the left of the gatehouse, but all vehicles must first pass through the gatehouse entrance.

Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4:00 PM
Saturday, 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Unaccepted materials:
These items are not acceptable for household collection: Freon, grease, motor oil, antifreeze, paint (in liquid form), biohazardous waste, industrial cleaners or solvents, or white goods.
The following are considered “white goods” and are not accepted at the Peoria City/County Landfill:
Computers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, water heaters, heaters, air conditioners, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, tires, paint, propane tanks, fluorescent bulbs, motor oil, mercury-containing products, lead-acid batteries.
Compost Facility:
Peoria residents may dispose of yardwaste materials for a nominal fee:
$1.25 per bag
$14.59 per cubic yard (The average truck bed is approx. 3 cubic yards)
Yardwaste collection is provided free of charge through the City’s hauling contract. For more information, see "Garbage and Recycling Services"webpage.
Dumping Fees:
The Peoria City/County Landfill allows residents of Peoria County to dispose of one load of residential refuse per week at no charge. Additional residential loads will be charged $5.
Some items are not accepted under the residential program. These are charged a $20 minimum fee per load.

General rules & regulations:
Do NOT mix household waste or animal waste with yardwaste.
Do NOT use plastic bags for yardwaste.
Do NOT use plastic or wire for bundling.
