"What we do for ourselves dies with us.
What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal."
                                                                                   Albert Pine

This page is dedicated to the officers who died in the line of duty. Also, a granite memorial stone was dedicated to these officers and firefighters who died in the line of duty. It is situated on the east side of Peoria City Hall. The names inscribed are those of the officers who died in the line of duty. Yearly, during police week, we return there and gather there or close by to reflect on the lives of these officers.

Each of the these officers had many God given talents, a high regard for life, and concern for the well being of all. They were respected by their peers, dedicated to their duty, and loved by their family, and us - who shared our love, pain, and life. In the short time they lived, their lives will touch the hearts and lives of generations to come. They will not be forgotten. Below are their names and a picture of who these officers are. As was once said, "we share a bit of their lives because they were so dearly loved".

We may click on each officers picture and be linked to more information on each Officer on the Officer Down Memorial Page website.

We are very thankful to God for the support of our families, the Heart of Illinois Critical Incident Stress Management Team, and community we receive throughout the most difficult times and in enhancing the quality of life of all each and every day, one day at a time, one moment at a time.

"You will find, as you look back upon your life, that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love."
