The Electronic Shop ensures that the public safety communications infrastructure is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Electronic Shop is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all radio equipment (fixed, mobile and portable), mobile data terminals, mobile video packages, radar units, key lock box systems, dial access paging system, fire house PA systems and siren systems in City police, fire, and public works vehicles. The Electronic Shop also maintains radio communication equipment for Inspections and PAWS. The Electronic Shop is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of radio tower sites, antennas on all City firehouses and the outdoor warning siren system.

The Electronic Shop performs time and material maintenance, installation, and removal for the Peoria County Emergency Telephone Systems Board for public safety electronic equipment located within the City of Peoria.
